ACT I Environmental Sciences

Dr. Dennis Lay
Executive Vice President

Dennis Lay is Executive Vice President Environmental Sciences for ACT I in Waco, Texas. In this role he leads ACT I's Environmental Sciences Division with responsibility for R&D and business development. He works with ACT I clients to develop innovative solutions to their critical project needs. The Environmental Sciences Division provides specialized chemical and microbiological analytical services for federal, state, and local government departments and agencies as well as commercial clients with a focus on defense, homeland security, and water quality challenges. Prior to joining ACT I, Dennis worked at The Dow Chemical Company with a career that spanned five different business units: oilfield services, polyolefins, epoxies, polyurethanes, and latex emulsions in a variety of R&D, product development, business development, and managerial roles. He also led Dow’s Intellectual Property efforts for two multi-billion dollar business units. In these roles he managed competitive intelligence, licensing, due diligence for mergers and acquisition, litigation efforts. He received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Texas A&M University.
